Football Development

As well as engaging participants in sport, Shrewsbury Town in the Community also provides a pathway for participants to represent Shrewsbury Town Football Club, through the Advanced Development Centre and FA Girls’ Regional
Talent Club.

The Advanced Development Centres (ADC), ran at locations across Shropshire including Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Prees, helps players between the age of 7 and 12 to develop their ability by providing advanced coaching on a weekly basis. The ADC gives players a taste of what it means to represent Shrewsbury Town, with participants who manage to impress being given the opportunity to play for the Shrewsbury Town FC academy.

The FA Girls’ Regional Talent Club, which currently has teams in the under 10, under 12, under 14 and under 16 age brackets representing Shrewsbury Town, aims to develop players who could progress to play for Shrewsbury
Town Women’s team.

The RTC is also designed to produce players for the National Team pathways, and has previously seen success with players representing Wales and Northern Ireland at international level for their age group.
